Restrictions
✔️ You must meet medical safety guidelines. For example, your blood iron levels need to be high enough
✔️ There must be enough room left in the schedule

What to Expect
Required pre-abortion services
Routine medical screening
Ultrasound to establish age and location of pregnancy
A finger-prick blood test to check your iron levels
Counseling/information session
Pre-abortion medication
You will likely receive a medication called misoprostol as a part of the preparation of your body for the abortion. This medication comes in the form of pills that will dissolve in your mouth or vagina. They will help to prepare your cervix for the abortion procedure. Some people have cramping, bleeding, nausea, chills, and aches like a fever. Misoprostol takes time to work, and you may have more than one dose before your abortion. We recommend packing a bag with a cozy blanket and pillow so you can be comfortable while the medicine works
Abortion procedure
🕓 The abortion procedure typically takes 5 - 10 minutes
💢 You will feel heavy cramping and pressure during the abortion
👀 You will be completely awake and aware during your care
💊 Ibuprofen/Acetominophen may decrease cramping. We can provide this to you for free
For one week after the abortion, we recommend you take it easy and rest. You will receive a complete explanation of what to expect during and after the abortion before you start the procedure.
