We know it’s been confusing and unclear whether abortion is still legal and available in Ohio. We’re here to tell you it is!

Abortion is legal in Ohio up to 21 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy. In spring of 2019, Ohio passed a law banning abortion around 6 weeks, but that law was blocked by a judge and is not in effect. The judicial process sometimes takes years, and while Preterm continues to fight to protect your right to control your own life and body, we will also be here providing the full range of abortion care in Ohio.

There are two types of abortion—surgical abortion and medication abortion, known as the "abortion pill." Preterm offers both types. Both types are safe and effective. Our staff will help you decide which method is right for you. 

 

At Preterm, we address both your physical and emotional needs. We offer a variety of pain management and sedation options. Every appointment for an abortion includes routine lab work, ultrasound, routine antibiotics, and a birth control prescription or sample. Every appointment also includes a private discussion with a patient advocate. Here you can ask questions and explore your decision in a confidential, nonjudgmental atmosphere. We also discuss your other pregnancy options, the abortion procedure, and birth control methods.
