Who We Are
We are a trusted healthcare provider, a trainer of future healthcare providers, and an advocate for every person's right to determine whether or when to have children, to become a parent or not, and to parent with dignity.
It is our goal that every patient leaves Preterm feeling empowered and affirmed.
We have always been a nonprofit clinic dedicated to keeping high-quality healthcare accessible to everyone, regardless of income.
We are held to the highest standards and are affiliated with and accredited by the preeminent bodies in our field, including:
For over 40 years, we have been an innovative leader in healthcare, with a reputation for excellence. We are a licensed ambulatory surgery center, with a dedicated, talented staff. Our clinic is a “green” building, with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Existing Buildings (LEED-EB) certification at the silver level. We train OB/GYN residents in world-class abortion care from all major regional hospitals, and we’ve trained hundreds of residents from around the country.

Addressing Unequal Access to Healthcare
We keep our services as affordable as possible and offer financial assistance to patients with limited financial resources.
Raising the Standards of Medical Care
We serve as a training site for medical residents and other health professionals who want to learn about high-quality abortion care and family planning. We also participate in medical research, such as the clinical trials that led to the FDA approval of RU-486 for medication abortion.
Advocating for Our Patients
Preterm is a vocal advocate for reproductive health, rights, and justice locally and across the country. Learn more about our My Abortion, My Life project to reduce abortion stigma.
